Do I have the right to select the auto body repair shop that will repair my car? Yes. In order to expedite your claim, we suggest you: (a) select the Kempthorn Collision Center (b) leave your vehicle with us (c) notify your insurance agent or company Do not drive a damaged vehicle even if your insurer tells you it is okay to do so. You are responsible for any damage caused after the accident. Any number of problems can occur, like the hood opening and blocking your view, overheating, etc.
Do I need to get three estimates? Ohio law requires only one estimate, and from the shop you prefer.
Do I have to notify my insurance company before repairs? Only the “insured” must notify their insurance company, not claimants (you are a claimant if the accident is the other person’s fault and their insurance company is paying for the repair.)
Who is responsible for the repairs? The collision center you select. Select a repair facility that is properly trained, certified and equipped to restore your vehicle automobile to its pre-accident condition.
Can you match the paint color? Factory applications today are made of multiple layers of specialized finishes. The Kempthorn Collision Center uses the highest available technology in its paint systems to ensure your vehicle’s repair matches the factory finish.
If my car’s frame is damaged does that mean it’s totaled? No. A vehicle is referred to as totaled if the repairs would cost more than the vehicle is worth. Our skilled technicians, using today’s most sophisticated equipment, can repair the frame to its original state.
What’s the difference between OEM and aftermarket parts? OEM or Original Equipment Manufacturer parts are manufactured by the original manufacturer of the vehicle. Aftermarket parts are manufactured by a company other than the original manufacturer, but are made to resemble OEM parts and often less expensive.

Can you cover my deductible for me? No. That would be considered insurance fraud. Beware of any body shop that offers to cover the deductible. They may be attempting to perform a lesser quality repair, in intending to commit fraud.
